The Origin of Easter:

“11 So shall you eat it: your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste; this is the Lord’s Passover.[…] 14 And this day shall be a memorial to you, and you shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations you shall celebrate it as a perpetual statute.” (Bible, Exodus 12: 11-14)

Christianity, an ancient account:

“Nero punished with the worst tortures the people called Christians, who were hated. ‘Christus’, the founder of the name, was condemned to death by Pontius Pilate, the procurator of Judea in the kingdom of Tiberius; but the pernicious superstition, suppressed for some time, was put to death. spread again, not only in the region of Judea where the trouble matter originated, but also in the city of Rome. (Tacitus. Annals XV. 44)”

Easter belief in the insurance industry

Just as insurance brokerage is a very specific gift, our insurance industry follows suit. However, people in this market also have many religious beliefs and moral values, based on Judaism and Christianity.

Easter (Passover)

The origin of the Passover is an initiative of Gd, instruction given to the Israeli people, who were the descendants of the patriarch Israel, grandson of Abraham, father of many nations.

Telling a little of this story, the people of Israel were slaves in Egypt. During the liberation process, there were ten plagues that devastated the African country. Just before that last plague happened, there was the institution of the Passover. The specific rite, which was to be celebrated in their future generations, began with the passing of the blood of the lamb on the doorposts, driving the angel of death away from that house. Afterwards, instructions on what should be done inside the Israelite dwellings, from the type of food to the dressing of clothes and staffs in the hands of the men, demonstrating the quick departure, which would take place next.

liberation from slavery

Joseph, the son of Israel, prospered and became governor in Egypt. Faced with a picture of seven years of famine, in a story filled with connotations of the hand of Gd and the entrepreneurship of the son of the patriarch Israel, Joseph calls his family to live in Egypt. Later, after the death of Joseph, the Israelites were made slaves, with much suffering and the death of children. And this all lasted more than 400 years.

Joseph is a type of person we should study on our journey. Made a slave, he managed to overcome this first difficulty. Afterwards, by the talent learned in his father’s house, he became the second man in the house of a great Egyptian named Potiphar. In the midst of great difficulty, he was taken prisoner, and spent several years in prison. But this did not shake Joseph, for his faith took him far, being released from prison and becoming the second most important man in Egypt. José is one of the favorite characters in the history of entrepreneurship.

Gd had already predicted that slavery would happen. Centuries later, a child named Moses was born in Egypt. Raised in royalty, to be the next Pharaoh, Moses rejected the Egyptian nobility. At the age of 80, after having fled that country, because of the death of a person – 40 years earlier, the prophet becomes Israel’s guide.

Liberation from Egyptian oppression

Slavery has always been a human error. Men enslave and mark other men by their social status, their skin color, by their origin, by their language, by their race, by their creed, by their sexuality and by their own desire for superiority. In short, slavery is a horror and exists today in various forms, including the politics of peoples and nations, as in the case of North Korea!

Many peoples were prisoners of few men. But liberty must be preserved among men. And freedom should be the thing we should fight for the most. First, the expression. Then, the great achievements of the Charter of Human Rights. In Brazil there is still a lack of freedom, including economic freedom. The sad reality of the subjugation of men to men should not exist in the 21st century.

Without economic freedom no one achieves individual freedom. Today, we know that the lack of economic freedom induces the enslavement of individuals. And that the weaker position disintegrates in the face of the stronger position. And this is very common in our market, to close, not to replace, to verticalize, to not let our people grow with their own actions and wills. And in this case, that’s what was done with the people of Israel in the past.

Thus, the Egyptians were forced to free the people of Israel. Then millions of people passed dry under the floor of the Red Sea, and afterwards entered Canaan, which was already the property of Abraham; invaded by other peoples, who were dispossessed (in part) later.

The territory of Israel today is only a portion of what it would actually be entitled to. The Dead Sea Scrolls testify that, at least, before Christ, there was already a document proving the authenticity of the lands of Israel. An example of this is to say that the Amazon does not belong to Brazil. The Amazon is from Brazil! The goods, forests and soil are from Brazil!

Christian Easter Dates:

“The system that is used by Christians to determine the date of Easter is much more complex than that used by Jews. Furthermore, unlike the Jews, who always start the Passover celebration on the 14th of nissan (in their own calendar), the commemoration for Christians is not fixed and therefore takes place on a movable date and each year takes place on a different date between March 22 and April 25.” […]

Jewish Passover:

“This passage from Exodus 12 establishes that the commemoration of the Passover will always take place on the 14th of nissan (or Nisan), the name of the first month in the Jewish calendar. This calendar is a lunisolar calendar, that is, it is based on the cycles of the moon and the sun. The months of the Jewish calendar are based on the lunar cycle, while the Jewish year is based on the solar cycle. […]

  • 2022: April 15th and 16th”

This week we will have the celebration of Easter. Jews and Christians will be celebrating the deeds of Gd. And the insurance market will also be available to evidence this right of men. Finally, before being a religious date, it is also a symbol of the fight against slavery, of strengthening free entrepreneurship, in a way, even in our insurance market.
