How to Get the Best Out of Samsung Phone Widgets

Like Apple, the Samsung is also betting on the most modern widgets. From now on, those with One UI 4.1 can edit, rearrange and even remove smart shortcuts.

A lot of people don’t know exactly what to do with the widgets on their smartphone and for those who have a Samsung and are starting to understand the new smart shortcuts now, know that it’s possible to make it look your way, rearrange, edit and even remove them .

What are widgets?

For those who have already used iOS and are migrating to Samsung, you will be able to notice a certain similarity in Apple’s software design for creating Smart Widgets.

Smart Widgets is a new feature in Samsung’s One UI 4.1, only available for phones like Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy devices with One UI 4.0 or earlier don’t have the feature.

With the introduction of Smart Widget users can overlay up to 7 smart widgets (including 3rd party apps) and view them by swiping left or right.

How to add widgets to home screen

Step 1 – To add Smart Shortcuts to your Samsung, first make sure it is updating with One UI 4.0.

2nd Step – Next, just keep pressing for a few seconds any “blank” part of your home screen. Then an option will appear at the bottom of your screen giving you the option to tap on “Widgets”.

3rd Step – Tap on Smart Widget and that’s it, just choose the size and format of the shortcut.

Attention: After being placed on the home screen, it is not possible to resize the size, this choice needs to be made before going to the home screen.

Editing Widgets

To edit your widget is simple and practical.

Step 1 – swipe your screen left or right until you find what you want to change

2nd Step – then press and hold the widget. Then just click on “Current widget settings”.

3rd Step – finally, see the available options and change as many and as many times as you want.

Removing Widget

Just like adding, removing is also a simple process.

Step 1 – again, swipe your screen to both sides until you find the shortcut you want to remove

2nd Step – then press for a few seconds on the widget you want to delete

Step 3 – After selection, tap Remove from smart widget or drag it to the trash can menu that appears at the bottom of the screen.

Although they seem like simple tips, they can help you to have a pile of good widgets that can make your day to day easier.
